I'm so very excited for the new Gorillaz record. They released the new single 'Stylo' on youtube with a music video featuring Bruce Willis and some very cool CGI animation. Check out the video here! With two very conceptually and musically different albums already released (Gorillaz, Demon Days), the highly anticipated third album 'The Plastic Beach' will be out this Tuesday March 9th, 2010! VERY EXCITED!!!

So back in January, my girlfriend's parents came to us with a concern about our current weights. We agreed that we are both a little unhealthy in size and life is too short so there's no point in making it shorter by not having a healthy lifestyle. To motivate us, they offered us a FREE trip to Costa Rica if we set a goal and reach it. The goal we set was 20 pounds each by April 1st. I am very pleased to announce that after only 7 weeks, I have lost 18 pounds! I'm so excited to see beautiful Costa Rica

Conan O'Brien has Twitter Now... Rejoice?

So Conan O'Brien (former 15 year employee of NBC) apparently has caved and now has a Twitter account. He also has a beard which I find a bit strange. Mostly because the only time I've seen orange beards are on short leprechauns and Conan is far from short. I'm not a fan of the twitter revolution and I don't plan on ever participating. But hey, if it floats your boat, go ahead and follow Conan.
On January 30th, 2010 I embarked on an adventure to The Opera House in Toronto to interview one of my musical icons Tommy Rogers of the band Between the Buried and Me for Guelph based LOAD Magazine (which I am an album reviewer and artist interviewer). The issue is scheduled to come out at the beginning of April and will feature photos of their live performance. UNFORTUNATELY because the issue has not yet been released, I am not allowed to post any photos. The best I can do is this photo of Tommy and I on the tour bus!

Modern Family

If you have not yet seen ABC's new hit comedy 'Modern Family' then you NEED to get on it right away. It's filmed in documentary style and focuses on three very different but very "modern families". The cast features actors like Ty Burrel (Dawn of the Dead) and Ed O'Neill (Married With Children) and the writing is just phenominal. Each episode I find myself laughing so hard I fall off the couch. It's definitely worth watching.
The Greatest Score!

Tonight, my girlfriend and I went to see 'The Book Of Eli' at the local cinema because I collect SCENE points and that gets me free movie stuff! So I had enough points so that we could go for free which was nice. We get there and because the movie has been out for so long already, NO ONE else occupied the theatre. It was nice to have the entire room to ourselves. About 20 minutes in, a green laser line appeared on the right of the screen and started scrolling back and forth. After 15 minutes I got up and went to inquire about this to the staff. The manager emerged from her office and informed me that the reel was in fact scratched and that it's very likely to continue throughout the rest of the movie. She proceeded to offer me complimentary passes and invited me to finish watching the movie. The best part was after sitting back down with my free passes in my pocket, the green line disappeared for the rest of the movie. The ending was AMAZING! Just a very cool way to end things. After the movie as we were about to leave, the usher asked us if we would like to take home a rather large bag of leftover popcorn. Naturally we said yes. What a great date night!
Something I've learned about myself over the years is that I love to cook and I'm not so bad at it either! One of my favourite things to make would be scalloped potatoes. They seem to get better and better each time I do it. The funny thing about my style in the kitchen is that I rarely follow recipes. Most of the time I find myself literally throwing spices together on a plate and coating a roast in said spices and then tossing it in the oven until I feel it's ready to eat. They never turn out bad. I did cave a bit and tried a recipe out for a garlic pork roast from the Canadian Living website. Feel free to give it a try some time. I definitely recommend it!
Shutter Island

So Tuesday night was a celebration of my relationship with my beautiful girlfriend Victoria. We did the cliched 'dinner and a movie' date. Our film of choice was 'Shutter Island', the new "thriller" from Martin Scorsese. I use the term thriller very loosely because although this film was phenomenal, it was definitely more of a psychologically based story. Check out the trailer here!
